About UNCG Tomorrow

In late September, 2008, Chancellor Linda P. Brady appointed approximately 70 faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC). Chancellor Brady charged the SPC to develop "a value-driven, outcome-based, transformative plan." Drawing on a document developed by the Planning Preparation Committee (A Bridge between UNCG Today and UNCG Tomorrow, July 31, 2008) and with guidance from Provost David H. Perrin, the SPC developed the UNCG Strategic Plan 2009-2014. The Strategic Planning Committee endorsed a plan draft on March 30, 2009. Since that time, all campus leadership groups have endorsed the UNCG Strategic Plan 2009-2014, and the Chancellor approved it on May 1, 2009. All campus leadership groups, including the Board of Trustees, endorsed the Vision and Mission Statement during Fall 2008, Chancellor Brady approved it on December 15, 2008, and the UNC Board of Governors approved it on November 13, 2009.

During 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, teams from multiple units and divisions built on the work of the Strategic Planning Committee and developed plans for the implementation of 19 of the 29 goals. A draft of the Complete UNCG Strategic Plan 2009-2010, including a list of the planned initiatives under these 19 goals, is available by clicking here. The work of the teams that produce implementation reports is supported by the Implementation Resource Support Team which consists of key representatives from across UNCG. The implementation plans for two goals activated in 2010-2011 have not yet been completed (4.2: Artistic Innovation and 4.5: Athletics). These are the only two goals for which implementation plans will be developed during 2011-2012. Divisional and unit plans to support the UNCG Strategic Plan have also been developed. The 2010-2011 Strategic Plan Report shows how divisions and units support the plan and documents continuous improvement in institutional effectiveness.
